Martin Nemec

Martin is a founding member, sponsor and owner of the Martin Nemec Volleyball Institute. His lifelong club, national team and later coaching career has given him a wealth of knowledge and experience that he wants to pass on to his charges in his own academy.

Martin has excelled in his talent since childhood. He started with volleyball in VKP Bratislava, Slovakia, where under the guidance of his main mentor Martin Špaček, he gained an elementary foundation and developed a sense of hard training. Here, Richard Nemec, Martin's uncle, a former world volleyball star and one of the best center players ever, was also his role model from a young age.

His first successes came in his junior age, when he became a double Slovak champion. His foreign engagements are very rich. He worked in clubs in France, Turkey, Italy, South Korea, Qatar, Romania, United Arab Emirates and also in Indonesia. He has accumulated many trophies like winning the 2009 Challenge Cup, winning the Romanian League and Cup, Italian top quality A1 World League and many more.

A significant chapter of Martin's volleyball life is the representation of Slovakia at international events. He has been a Slovak representative for more than 10 years and in 2001-2011 he made 150 national team starts. One of the highlights of his national team career was also winning the Europa League and finishing 5th at the European Championships.

As a player, he worked under world-class coaches and mentors, and towards the end of his career, he became equally fulfilled by passing on his experience and volleyball skills to younger teammates. He went through a rigorous educational process, becoming a certified FIVB instructor, fitness and bodybuilding coach. He successfully took the subsequent opportunity to coach an elite team in South Korea, beginning a new chapter in Martin's volleyball life that has lasted for several years.

The big challenge and vision is to have our own academy. The Volleyball Institute wants to push the level of volleyball around the world and for a wide group of people. It offers its services for individual professional players, but also for hobby players, for teams and clubs, for coaches, students and also, for example, club owners who can have their team or a match played independently analysed.
