Education and work
Dr. Zamborský graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava and spent his first years as a young surgeon at the surgical clinic of the National Cancer Institute in Bratislava. He gained his first foreign experience in private clinics in Great Britain (Lourdes Hospital - Liverpool, Winfield Hospital - Gloucester, Rivers Capio Hospital - Peterborough, Sandringham Hospital, King's Lynn), where he also gained his first significant foreign contacts and insight into orthopaedics, trauma surgery and sports medicine. After his return he worked for almost 10 years at the Department of Trauma Surgery at the University Hospital in Bratislava, where he was actively involved in a wide range of patients with injuries to the limbs and joints, as well as other sites, including severe injuries. The clinic is a teaching base of trauma surgery in Slovakia within the Medical Faculty of SZU. Subsequent steps led to the Orthopaedic-Traumatology Department of St. Michael's Hospital as well as to the Orthopaedic Clinic of the LFUK National Institute of Children's Diseases in Bratislava, where it still operates today and provides orthopaedic care for paediatric patients from all over Slovakia.
