Yoga master
Katarína Ježovicová met yoga for the first time abroad. After several years of her own practice, she decided to study it with renowned teachers. Today she is the owner of the well-known yoga centre in Bratislava, YOGA ZDRAVO, the author of the Healthy Back - Blocks® yoga method and the founder of the Medical Yoga Institute - a school for future yoga instructors. Both the practice method and the Institute are focused on the medical aspect and effects of yoga practice on physical and emotional health. Catherine believes that yoga is suitable for everyone whether they are a stressed out executive, a person with limited range of motion or a professional sportsman or sportswoman as a compensation for their demanding training schedule.
YOGA ZDRAVO consists of a team of professional yoga instructors, a masseur and a physiotherapist who can build a tailor-made class for everyone according to individual needs, including professional athletes whether it is football, volleyball or tennis.
The institute provides high quality education for future yoga teachers in the fields of anatomy, physiology, psychology, aromatherapy and craniosacral therapy in order to holistically address the problems of every human being in the challenging modern age.
Katarina joined this project to bring the tools of yoga through physical practice, pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation to contribute to the healthy recovery and convalescence of professional athletes. There is no doubt that yoga works on a physical and emotional level. It offers a wide range of tools for stress management as well as the practice of mindfulness, the ability to bring attention to the body and to the present moment. All of this contributes to achieving challenging goals and overcoming the mental exhaustion that can build up over time to burnout syndrome.
Every professional athlete who is serious about their career should take care of their body and mind in a way that works with them to prevent physical injuries or mental burnout.
